The Incredible Golf-O-Matic
A downloadable gadget for Windows
About the Game:
This game was created over the span of a semester for TAGD's Fall 2024 Game Jam. As it turns out, taking 4 labs in 1 semester was a mistake, I only ever felt like working on this game when I had an assignment due in a few hours. Unlike the previous two entries, I'm a bit worried I made it too easy for once. There were plans for a more extensive ball attribute system, but I got hit with a wee bit of burnout and never actually got around to making it. Maybe if I do a 1.1 update...
The Story:
A eccentric scientist has just lent you his newest invention: the Golf-O-Matic. This device is able to simulate a universe of endless golf courses, and limitless unique golf balls to go with it. Unfortunately, doing all this is costly, so you'll need to collect coins along the way to grow your, erm... "research" budget. Along the way, you may also find modules which can help you learn more about these strange new golf balls. Go for a high (low?) score, but avoid lingering for too long in one spot, lest you destabilize everything. There's something out there, and it doesn't take too kindly to lesser beings violating the standards of golf.
The Controls:
- Click and drag to launch ball. The ball can be re-aimed while moving.
- Use the scroll wheel to select a ball.
- Press Escape to close any menus.
- F4 to toggle fullscreen.

Install instructions
Download the game, unzip the file, and run "Golf-O-Matic.exe".
I'm not sure if you need DirectX9 for this one. If you do, it can be found at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109.
